Breaks are Beneficial, So Take Them
Everyone knows what it means to be burned out. This usually happens after a stressful week, trying to meet deadlines, or while trying to complete a project. Burnout is no good. When people work nonstop, it often creates physical and psychological problems. Some of the most impressive people in history often took naps, walks, and breaks to keep themselves on track. It’s important that all of us take breaks at work from time to time. When we don’t take breaks, we wind up with bigger issues. Here are a few ways you can take a break at work:
Get Moving
It’s always a good idea to get up and get moving if you work in an office or similar situation. Sedentary work can wreak havoc on your body if you’re not careful. From back problems to heart problems, the effects of sitting for too long are well documented. So, get up and get moving, even if it’s just a quick trip to the water cooler.
If you can, it’s a great idea to take a walk during the work day. It’s good to set aside time during your lunch break to take a nice stroll. Walking is great exercise and will help you relieve stress and free your mind, giving you more energy when you return to your work.
Have a Conversation
A great way to take a break at work is to have a chat with a coworker. Of course, you don’t want to waste hours on office gossip, but taking a stroll to see what a coworker is doing if you have some free time shouldn’t be a big deal.
Enjoy Your Lunch or a Snack
Another thing to keep in mind is that you should never eat your lunch at your desk unless it’s necessary. Your lunch should be a time to get away from work for a bit and then return rejuvenated. So, get out of the office if you can or at least get away from your desk for lunch. Even if there’s a convenient and healthy lunch option in the office, like those we offer in our micro markets at Bevco, take your lunch to the break room, cafeteria, or if the weather permits, outside.
Convenient Options for Your Break Room
Since everyone needs a break, it’s a good idea to have some healthy snack options in your beak room. If you need vending machines or micro markets for your employees, contact our team today!
